What tipe of light i need for transform my freshwarte tank fluval edge in a salt water tank ( with a couple of clown fish and some reef ), do u think that with two Brightest MR11 12V 10 SMD LED is fine???

I’ve turned a Fluval Edge into a saltwater with some serious light mod and placed it next to my Fluval freshwater for a fun yin-yang look.

Quite a few options available at this point, depending on budget, DIY skillset, type of corals, aquascaping/layout…high power LED can get it done.
The easiest route is to find some blue LEDs in MR-11 or MR-16 formats and swap out the existing halogen bulbs.

Thanks for the compliment. Honestly I think the Fluval Edge is far small to support anything but a single small fish. Anything more will require extra maintenance and a larger cleanup crew. You may need a couple of nassarius snails to keep the sandbed clean.
I’m not sure what you mean by “moss on my coral”? is that a live acropora coral that you have on the left side?

Awesome tank! I really like how you’ve got the reef setup with such minimal clearance. I recently performed an LED mod which allows me to choose and change the color of the lighting at will. I’ve uploaded a video to youtube for this too “Chirag’s multi-color LED aquarium”. I’m finding, however, that I’m getting a lot of “fish-guano” build-up on my white sand substrate — anything you can recommend (I have a gravel cleaner, turbo snail, and 2 hermits on cleanup duty). Also, I’m finding that the moss on my coral is receding quite quickly– any thoughts on that?

hy guys i recently purchased the fluval edge tank, i have a tropical set up but the lighting is poor thats comes with the tank, can i buy stronger lightning and wat type and can i buy a blue blub and use it with a white one thanks

It’s mostly aesthetics between gravels vs. live sand. Either way, you have to find a way to export nutrients.

Thanks. I wouldn’t do it. But others have done so. I’m looking to keep a really simple system with minimal maintenance, thus my choice with current livestock.

thanks Minh is it k it my live rock turns a lil dark i tryed setting my ph level to 8.4 but it im possible and ideas? thanks alot Minh
