New Fluval chi cover now available

The Fluval chi is fast becoming one of the most popular nano aquariums available, thanks to its clean looks, unusual fountain/filter/light unit design and innovative dual level LED lighting system.

The open top design creates a feeling of space and natural beauty that a traditional canopy would destroy, but as with any design feature this does have its downside. Evaporation can occur more quickly leading to more frequent top ups and, although rare, some fish can jump out of open top aquariums. Fish, when stressed, will naturally try to head to a light source. This is why we always recommend dimming room lights and turning off aquarium lights for a couple of days whenever new fish are introduced to an aquarium, to give them a chance to settle in.

To combat these issues without destroying the calming beauty of the chi, Fluval have recently launched a special Fluval chi cover. Made from translucent perspex, the cover is formed to sit perfectly on either chi model with a cutout to fit around the filter attachment and, once in place, blends beautifully with the look of the aquarium. The cover helps slow evaporation and will prevent any wayward fish from being able to leap from the tank.
