I also wanted to add that the flow rate issue has been a BIG one with keepers of large tanks. I believe the explanation given by Hagen flow capacity vs filter flow covers that very well. For example the G6 is rated at 1000lph filter flow and a pump capacity of 2460lph. At least Hagen has been honest and not boosted flow capacity like others have done. This should be more than enough if the cartridges and cleaned regularly the rated max tank sizes stated. I believe (though definitely beneficial) removal of mechanical bio gunk in the filter is much more important than just water changes to fight nitrates. I'm in the USA and hopeful your earliest release of the G series will be available to us.

I have to admit that it seems that time is dragging on regard the G's release. But, I am enjoying all the interest it has generated through out the aquarium keeper e-sites. I definitely am going to give the G6 and very close look once available. It has the capabilities I am looking for in a filter. My first canister was a Fluval 4 series back in 1987 for my 70 gallon cichlid tank. It was fantastic, I never loss a fish due to it's function and lasted for many years (who knows, it may still be in use as I gave that tank away when I moved in 1995).
